Pharmacology: Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an unsaturated fatty acid containing many double-bonds from fish oil. It is an extremely important structural component of brain tissue, gray matter and retina in human. Forty percent (40%) of lipid organisms of brain and 60% of lipid organisms of retina of eyes are made up of DHA. Therefore, DHA is the most important supplementary nutrient for brain and eyes in all ages, especially in the last period of pregnancy, infant during growing up period and person with brain function insufficiency.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) is called a cardioprotective due to lipid-lowering effect in blood, stimulating the synthesis of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) and inhibiting the constitution of atherosclerosis.
